intern08

Fluxcapacity is a bootstrapped tech startup based on the Upper West Side in NYC. We're really small, but we have big dreams and we're determined to change the world.

We're looking for incredibly smart, self-directed, and energetic interns for summer 2008 who love working on the bleeding edge of computer science. This is not a standard internship where you work on some toy project that'll never see the light of day. You'll be working with us as a full member of the team from the day you start. Together we'll build and release something amazing by the end of the summer.

Summer projects may include:

  • Machine Learning
  • Computer Vision
  • Distributed Systems
  • Mobile Applications

No experience in these areas is needed. The only prerequisites are enthusiasm, determination, and a sense of humor.

Here's what we offer to our interns:

  • Stipend for living expenses during the summer
  • Free housing
  • Relocation expenses paid
  • Opportunity to join us full time as we grow

The application deadline for summer 2008 has passed.  Thanks for your interest.

If you're interested, send us@fluxcapacity.net your resume by Monday, April 14th and let's talk!

Here are some lame overused questions we will NEVER ask you, and the kind of smart-ass answers we'd expect if we did:

What's your greatest weakness?
"Sometimes I show up to work drunk and start fights with co-workers. Also, Kryptonite."

Where do you want to be in five years?
"Mars."

Describe a time in your life when you <insert ridiculously inane situation here>.
"I'd rather stab myself with this pen than answer this question."
